10th Arab Regional & OIC-CERT Cyber Drill
The ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ITU-ARCC) recently organized the 10th Arab Regional Cyber Drill, a significant event for the Arab region’s cybersecurity landscape. Hosted by Oman National CERT, the drill brought together national Arab CERTs, private CERTs, and critical sector security operation centers to enhance their preparedness against evolving cyber threats.
The Cyber Drill simulated the latest trends in cyber-attacks, placing participants in a realistic, high-pressure environment. The goal was to assess and improve the confidence and ability of the participants to respond effectively to cyber threats, as well as to foster better communication and coordination among the region’s national Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs).
Participants were exposed to various scenarios based on real-life case studies, allowing them to test their skills and knowledge against the backdrop of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attack techniques. The event provided a unique opportunity for participants to measure their response capabilities and collaborate with other stakeholders to overcome complex challenges.
PISA-CERT, led by Cyber Security Expert Muhammad Asad Ul Rehman, proudly represented Pakistan in this prestigious event. Their participation not only demonstrated Pakistan’s commitment to regional cybersecurity efforts but also highlighted the expertise and readiness of PISA-CERT in dealing with emerging cyber threats.
This engagement underscores the importance of international collaboration in cybersecurity and the continuous need for improvement in handling sophisticated cyber-attacks that threaten critical infrastructure and national security.
