کلاؤڈ کمپیوٹنگ سے مراد ایسی ٹیکنالوجی ہے جو انٹرنیٹ کو ڈیٹا اور ایپلی کیشنز محفوظ کرنے کے لئے استعمال کرتی ہے۔کلاؤڈ کمپیوٹنگ استعمال کنندگان اور کاروباری لوگوں کو انٹرنیٹ کے ذریعے بغیر کسی تنصیب کے کسی بھی کمپیوٹر پر ایپلی کیشنز استعمال کرنے کی سہولت مہیا کرتا ہے۔ اس ٹیکنالوجی کی بدولت انٹرنیٹ پر لامحدود تعداد میں ڈیٹا کو محفوظ کیا جا سکتا ہے اور روزانہ بڑی تعداد میں صارفین کلاؤڈ کمپیوٹنگ کا فائدہ اٹھارہے ہیں۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار سائبر سکیورٹی ایکسپرٹ محمد اسد الرحمن نے نجی انسٹیٹیوٹ کے طلباء و طالبات سے سیمینار کے دوران خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈئریکٹر باقرندیم ہاشمی نے کہا کہ آئندہ چند سالوں میں کلاؤڈکمپیوٹنگ کی بدولت انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے میں ترقی کے مزید دروازے کھلیں گے لہذا طلباء و طالبا ت کلاؤڈ کمپیوٹنگ کے سکلز سیکھیں تا کہ اس شعبہ میں عملی طور پر اپنا کردار ادا کر سکیں۔ اس موقع پر انسٹرکٹر عالیہ ملک نے کہا کہ کلاؤڈ کمپیوٹنگ پر ڈیٹامنتقل کرنے کی وجہ سے کاروباری اداروں کے اخراجات میں کمی واقع ہوئی ہے لہذا پاکستان میں کلاؤڈ کمپیوٹنگ کے حوالے سے اقدامات کرنے کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔ اس موقع پر طلباء و طالبات کی کثیر تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
